How to send tcpip data to a server on port 5555

Hello,
I am trying to develop an external management system for a host of proprietary servers using PHP. These servers have a management API that uses TCP for communication thru port 5555.
Can anyone please send me information on how to send and receive TCPIP data to an external machine using port 5555.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
