Post New to PHP
I had posted this in the Programming Forum and realized that there is also an Editor forum! So I'll post in here as well hoping to get some more feedback:

Hi everyone!

So, I'm sure you have had several posts similar to this... so I do not mind canned answers!

I am hoping to learn and understand basic php and I was wondering what the most simple and suitable editing program is appropriate for one who has no experience with php.

It is my intention to fool around with some templates to understand how exactly it operates.

Any other info would be helpful!

Looking forward to your feedback!

Best wishes,

Kevin :eek:

Hi Kevin. I'm in your boat. Will keep track of this thread. I found a basic tutorial, except I didn't know some of the even more basic info like changing a .txt to a .php file (which was answered). Also, why my uploaded code didn't work on my site (turns out the host didn't support CGI Access for my package). Now I need to know if the editor I found has to be uploaded to my site in order to work, so I can even begin the tutorial.

Good luck.

Rad

Well, your first ever line of code should be

<?php

Echo "This is your first line of code";

?>

as raduz said, just add the .php extention at the end. PHP can combine with HTML, to make webpages, although, PHP cannot create templates or designs ect. only HTML can, have you connected your PHP into your apache 2.2 and installed XAMPP?
