Default NuSphere PhpDock - windows php deployment

I wanted to mention this NuSphere new php deployment tool for windows - PhpDock. It combines webserver and web browser in the single executable of very small size and can run php scripts just like you would run them with Apache or IIS. Actually you can take your web application and just simplu deploy it to windows desktop. Your end user doesn't need to be connected to the internet, no web server is needed - not even a browser. Pretty neat i think

As an alternative I would recommend ZZEE PHP GUI. Unlike PHPDock, it doesn't occupy a TCP port (hence no firewall will complain), and your PHP files can be anywhere on your computer, you just click them in Windows Explorer and that's it (with PhpDock you must place your PHP files into theirs webroot directory).

I don't think it is the same - PhpDock runs like true Desktop application + it now comes with PhpExpress and can automatically load files encoded with NuCoder. Before 1.4 release I was hesitant to buy b'ze I didn't want to distribute my source code in the open. With encoding it is no longer a problem. Plus they have discount for PhpED customers- it makes sense

They both work the same - there is a browser (IE based) and a webserver, but with ZZEE PHP GUI there is no TCP/IP interaction - an added security bonus - so they both true desktop application in your definition. If you mean that it looks like a browser, you just can switch the UI off.

As to encoding, ZZEE PHP GUI comes with bundled and preconfigured bcompiler - so your code can be compiled and hidden.

However ZZEE PHP GUI is more universal. If you, for example, wanted to write a simple script for yourself, like automating some files, then in case of PhpDock, you need to put it to the same dir where PhpDock is installed, and to run a PHP script you need to call phpdock's exe. What if you need to run two or three scripts? (You either need a second installation of phpdock or ...).
With ZZEE you don't have problems like that - you don't care where your PHP scripts are located or anything else. You just click a script - and it runs.
