I'm a regular HTML / CSS / JS / PHP coder and I'm a longtime user of Macromedia Homesite. However, I'm quite worried about Macomedia's longtime commitment to Homesite and I'm searching for alternatives. I tried some of the "Reviewed PHP Editors" but I didn't find something satisfactory.

This is what i'm looking for (just a subset):
- multiple syntax highlighting, in one document (I want HTML / CSS / JS / PHP syntax highlighting, all at once and not one at a time)
- precise and customisable syntax highlighting (not generic categories such as "HTML and 'others'")
- abilty to use custom document bookmarks (to jump quickly from one place to another in the document)
- Tag Insight and Tag Completion (select from a list of available tags provided by Tag Insight in response to your typing, then select the tag's attributes from a similar prompt. Get a closing tag automatically from Tag Completion when you type or select an opening tag)
- snippets
- custom code folding / collapsing options (not circumstantial, SciTe-style)

To be fair, I'm looking for a Homesite with brace-matching and a debugger.
Ideas ?

No, I didn't tried it, and I'm not going to until I can download a bloat-free trial-version of your product. I have my own version of Windows "LAMP" in place (and working) and I don't need / want to download again the "full documentation set + pre-configured PHP 5.x with debugger extensions", thank you very much.

It's not just you, Maguma does the same.

No flame intended, just my humble opionion...

I use php expert editor
Highlighting for php and html all at once. There is also some highlighting for javascript. For javascript it highlights builtin functions and things in quotes.

The thing I like about it is that you can have multiple docs open in one window also. It just has tabs.
