 PHP Editor For MySql
I am kind of new at this, so I hope this is not a dumb question. I have a MySql database on my web site. I have added a table and fields to hold information (i.e. name, phone, areas of expertise, etc.). Now I need to build a web form for users to post their information and I also want a web page so that users can search the data for people with particular areas of experties. I have pretty good HTML skills, but have never connected to a database or read from a database. So, is there a PHP Editor that I can use to make this easy. Since I don't do this often, something WYSIWYG would be nice, but I am open to learning new things the hard way if needed. Thanks for your suggestions.:D Jim

PhpED from NuSphere has DB Wizzard - it will walk you through making connection to the database (e.g. MySQL) and will generate PHP code implementing connection to the db. Their website is http://www.nusphere.com.
Good luck!

At $300, that's a little too expensive for the simple task I am trying to do. Plus, we are a non-profit organization and out annual budget is very small. So if anyone has any other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jim

I had dealings with them, they have discounts for non-profits and their service is great, they reply to emails right away. I don't remember who I emailed to, I suggest going to Contact us on their web site

The non-profit price is still $240. Our organization is just way to small to afford this and what I need to do only involves a few pieces of data. So I will look elsewhere for something or just learn how to manually do this. Thanks for the suggestion. Jim

I have tried out a few different ide's and have found three that are really usefull:
1. Webuilder 2006 $39.85 http://www.blumentals.net/webuilder/
the above IDE has an SQL browsers in it that will help you to connect to a database and create a query.
2. PHP Designer 2006 (2007 is out now for $69) http://www.mpsoftware.dk/
3. StarPHP donation http://www.starphp.com/
