Well established nonprofit (over 50 years old) with more than twenty web developers looking for PHP developers as we transition our new development to PHP on Oracle. We are a serious development shop with an established SDLC including rigorous testing and deployment practices.

We are looking for junior/mid-level developers with PHP5 skills, object-oriented approaches and experience implementing applications using MVC frameworks. We are at the beginning of our PHP transition and looking for developers interested in contributing knowledge to our work in establishing solid PHP development practices and patterns. We're looking for thinkers that can follow through on great ideas- we're not looking for someone who can whack together a shopping cart application at three in the morning.

The work environment is relaxed but focused and the benefits are great. Our location is downtown DC at the top of Georgetown- about ten minutes walk from either Foggy Bottom or Dupont Circle metros. Positions available immediately.

Required:
* 3+ years databased web development experience
(any language, but PHP preferred)
* 3+ years database design
* Comfortable with version control software and practice

Desired:
* Experience working on projects with 2 or more
development colleagues
* Understands object-oriented design
* PHP5 using objects
* Able to understand UML class and sequence diagrams
* Oracle stored procedures

For good measure:
* Has read The Pragmatic Programmer 2+ times
* Knows how to get a TPS report in on time
* Able to leap tall arrays in a single bound
* Can separate hype from fact and apply new
technologies in a practical way
