Seeking Senior php Developer & Architect: Sunnyvale CA

Internet startup company looking for a senior php developer for ongoing development of the company’s destination website.

Our company is in stealth mode and will be launching a social networking site in a highly visible market, with a novel and profitable business model.

You will be responsible for taking ownership of the company’s initial code base, and making maintain-versus-rewrite decisions as we rapidly enhance and modify the site based on user feedback from our pilot launch. As the company’s first on-staff developer, you will report directly to the CTO and help guide the architectural direction of the software platform.

Because time is critical in our fast-moving market, we’re looking for a hands-on developer who can build commercial quality code in record time, while migrating the initial design to a well-architected and extensible platform to support future growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience with all aspects of building and maintaining a high-volume consumer website.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science; MS / PhD strongly preferred
• Five years web development experience
• Three years experience developing php / mySQL applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong pluses for experience with: Drupal or other CMS systems; OpenAds or other ad servers; Flash streaming video
