The Senior Software Architect will be responsible for the system and software architecture of the overall Integrated Diabetes Systems solution. This position will assess business and clinical needs and translate them into system and software capabilities, define appropriate systems and architectures to support the required capabilities and features, and guide development efforts within the established architectural framework.
The Senior Software Architect will be responsible for overall architectural and design deliverables ensuring that key milestones are met and that solutions delivered are of the highest quality possible. He/she will serve as Senior Architect for the overall solution with a primary emphasis on the software component, assist the CTO in assessing external suppliers, determining best mix of externally and internally developed components of the solution, provide day to day architectural leadership, and represent the company on various standards bodies as appropriate.
The successful candidate must possess a BS degree in Computer Science (or a related discipline) or equivalent work experience; an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience in architecting and building sophisticated service-oriented and highly secure software solutions is required. Fluency in Java is required. Fluency and understanding of a broad range of languages and technologies such as PHP, C#, .Net, J2ME, Perl, or equivalent technologies is preferred. Experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQLServer is preferred. Experience with open web platforms (LAMP, JBoss, etc…) is required. Must possess experience architecting for web applications. Experience with mobile and client-side software is preferred. Experience with AI and medical technology are a plus. Must be capable of leading complete architecture design of product systems and supporting commercial systems. Must possess a willingness to stay on top of the latest technologies and broaden current skill sets. Candidate must be articulate and flexible, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Must be highly motivated, have strong initiative, and be ready to work in a fast paced environment. This position will require approximately 10% domestic and international travel.
