php 5 settings for smtp out

I have just installed and configured php5 and apache 2 on my XP machine for testing purposes only

I have one little prob at the moment, I have configires the php ini file for my own mail smtp server (smtp.mydomain.com) the problem is that my server requires authentication to send mail so how do I put it on the settings?

(the scripts work and send the email but I get nothing because the server does not send them cause it's missing the username and pass)

you can use

smtp.bnhs.nl as smtp server. it doesnt need authentication
