Hi !

I would have known who will be participating to the current contest.
And if you want to share ideas, it could be fun =)

I'll try to make a language that can use Regular Expressions "as in Perl".

Like: expression ~ /mask/ for a preg_match
and expression ~ /mask/replace/ for a preg_replace

Do you think such an idea is a good one ?

By the way, i have a question:

I've chosen not to let tests be possible, for security reasons (REX can do all PHP can do, so delete a directory, or some files in your server would be easy).

Should I re-implement it ?

Your demo look impressive

Your absolutly correct in not allowing tests to be executed. Obviously this depended on the power and capabilities of your implementation, but in your case it will be better to disallow execution. You should however allow tests to be converted and outputed as PHP scripts if at all possible.

I don't understand; what do you mean ?
I display an as-is executable script, you would like it to create and send a file ?

I was thinking about detecting and disabling calls of exec, passthru, shell_exec, system, eval, *open, rmdir, unlink, mkdir, touch.......
But it requires a complete list of dangerous functions.
