I've been using html for a while but I really want to learn how to use PHP. :unsure: Problem is I don't understand anything I have read on it.

All I need is someone that wouldn't mind helping me out with getting a php guestbook onto my web site.

Thanks treyzkismet@aol.com

Well there are a couple of things (please somebody correct me if I'm wrong because I am fairly new with php).

First you need to make sure that your host allows php.
Second you need to make sure you have a database (probably MySQL).

If you fulfill those requirements then it's probably possible (but I'm not sure how to do it ).

Your are correct about the host but if its the coding side of things you would like to learn;

Use Larry Ullman - PHP and MYSQL
ISBN: 0-321-18648-6

or the newer version which im waiting on

Larry Ullman - PHP and MYSQL
ISBN: 0-321-33657-7

The first book I read solid for awhile and I soon picked up the way the code works! B)

oh if you want the guestbook side things there is loads out there just start from google or hotscripts.com. I been using PHP for 4 months now have a look at the construction of my guestbook to get some ideas if you wish its not complete so expect errors now and again.

I run this off my dedicated server B)

Hope this helps,
Liam
