loose prduct description formatting

I just got OS up and running but for some reason when I try to load a new product ie. price, image desc etc and put in formatted html then click preview it looses its formatting. Also, when you go to the webpage it has no formatting either? The < and > are replaced by a - .

Hmmm cancane1..... the formatting is not lost - you have an image only on that page.
Look at the source and you will see.

Ahhh... perhaps you just posted a screenshot of the error?
In that case can you post the actual code which produces this error? then someone can give you a better explaination.

ok, O go to my admin panel and clck new product under catalog. when I get ther I insert this code and browse to select an image. When I click preview I get the link above.

notice all the < are gone???
