Question how to substract time

anybody know how to substracting time, ex :
20:00 - 19:40 = 60 minutes , and maybe you can tell me how tu substract time if pass one day. thx

store it as timestamps and just subtract.

correction: there is 20 minutes difference.

use mktime function and result of subtraction two timestamps will be difference in secunds.
