'Homework' ...if only that was all it was...lol!
Sorry guys! It seems my sense of humor is perhaps a little out of place here. However, I must add that assumption is the mother of all fudge-ups.
As far as homework projects are concerned the only ones I'm involved in these days are the school projects I assist my kids with...hence the initial anecdotal presentation I'm actually 42 and recently became a single dad raising 4 kids alone so I'm trying to retrain myself to suit my circumstances ie: to be able to work from home while raising my kids.
I'm trying to write a simple script to manage a stall we operate at a market on Sundays. I could download a script of course but as I'm retraining myself I find it more beneficial to write my own. I've been thru the tutorials at W3Schools.com and a couple of others and I'm grunting my way thru the php manual too.
I asked for help with an open source product (PHP/MySQL) in this forum titled 'PHP Programming Help' which seems to encourage open source therefore knowledge sharing. I asked for simple examples and explanations NOT specific code because I have no desire to use someone else's work although this appears to be common, acceptable and even encouraged practice. (Do I need to provide quotes from posters within this forum to support this?).
No offense, guys, but please demonstrate that I haven't stumbled upon yet another public forum in which those who have the knowledge preach knowledge sharing yet allow their little egos to only selectively share the commonly sought for knowledge?
