Thumbs down No longer freeware

As of the latest version, PHP Designer [2007] is no longer fully freeware. There is a cut-down free version for personal and educational use.

Your are right. But the price of the commercial license is still much cheaper that other IDE's with very similar features.

Personally I think this is a good move for them. They have spend a lot of time building this system and I bet they have received very few donations, everyone has to earn a living. Look on the bright side, they still offer a free version for personal use.

Default seems like only the personal version is free now

they've moved to 2007 version and the older versions are no longer available.
And as well only the reduced feature 'personal' version is free.

Default Crashed right out of the box

Horrible experience. Crashed right out of the box during attempt to debug commercial website (osCommerce) installed and configured locally. Default installation with only option changed is php path.

Default Like so many other projects...

Remember when PHPEdit was 'free' too. You get these nice open source projects, everybody contributes to make it a better product, then the developer goes and profits off of it...
This tool went the same way, unfortunately...

Eclipse... here I come...

Talking Simply The Best!

I've been a user of PHP Designer since the early 2005 days. I continued to use PHP Designer on into '06 (version 4.0.6) and now to today - I bought 2007 (version 5.3.2)

I'm simply amazed with the progress Michael has made with such wonderful software. Even if this software was still free and paying was optional.. I still would have paid the $53.

Whether you are a beginner, or full blown professional - this software is for you! Buy it, you won't regret it.
