Hi, I'll just explain what I want to do.. I have no clue how to do this, and I was hoping someone could explain this to a newb as myself.

Ok, I play spades alot, we have tournaments daily, with alot of people playing.. Well I'm part of a spades team and I'm wanting to create a page that you have to log in with your own name and password to enter the page. Once in the page, you can view a scoretable. (I have all of the webpage done except the coding which is what i need help on). There is 3 links on the left side. Submit a score, View scores, and View banners, The banners are text macros that people make to show that someone has won a tournament or got runner up in the tour. Well under submit score, I want it so that they can checkbox what points they have earned such as: Win, Runner up, Semis, hosted tour, etc. I have all the checkboxes set up, and everything else. I got submit buttons added and everything needed.. I just want it so when they hit submit, they must have a banner in the text..im guessing the code would make it so something has to be typed there... and so it adds the points to the players name automatically.. I think this describes what I want.. and just to make sure Ill act as if Im someone going to the site:
I go to the site and click the Points link on my site.. It asks me for a user name and password, I enter them, and it brings me to the members only scoresite, i just won a tournament and i want to submit my score.. I click submit score and check off win.. i paste my banner into the open text area, and click submit, i now click on view scores and I see that my points have been added. i now click on view banners and see my banner there..

Also, If I were to find files like this.. how would i put them on my site to be used? I dont have a clue how.. would i upload them and copy and paste the text to the html on the server? im not sure.. never worked with PHP i just learned what it can do and i like it..

If it will help any.. I have a site that does exactly what I want above... thx.

I would suggest starting here. This is a pretty good article it covers a basic CMS with page security and input validation. With a little imagination I think it would do what you are looking for.
