hi learner,

do you mean the (legal) html4.0-code you output doesn't get displayed at all by IIS ?
THAT would be a nasty ISS fault! :)

Hi, Learner! My problem is a bit of same with yours. I 've installed IIS in Windows 2k server and also installed the php 4.0.
It is fine for me to view php pages in localhost in my computer; however, it doesn't run any php scripts. i dont know why does it happen.

Stuart...

I can't seem to access your page.

I am new to PHP, and I too am learning from Wrox's (somewhat outdated) Beginning PHP4 book. If possible, let me know what scripts in specific you are having trouble with and I'll tell you how I was able to fix them.

Also, let us know which version of IIS you are using. Before you can serve PHP pages, you must enable the PHP extension in IIS as another member noted below.

P.S. I found that I couldn't run half the scripts in this book without opening:

c:\winnt\php.ini

and editing:

register_globals = On (default is "off")

Wrox also has a message board on their website that reveals a lot of troubleshooting with some of the errors in the book.

It was also very helpful to log all errors to a file rather than display them as output on the screen.
